ABOUT ME
Welcome to my website! Here is a little bit about me:
I live in Austin Texas with my husband, and my dog, who truly might be the cutest dog I've ever seen. I have 2 young adult children.
I have worked professionally as an designer, commercial artist, fine artist, web designer, copy writer and manager of printing publications department of a large corporation. When not writing, I also work in the music business. (I live in Austin. Who doesn't?)
I love books! My favorite author is Virginia Woolf because of her beautiful sentences, (my favorite sentence is the first sentence in her essay "On Being Ill"), and because of how she describes her characters without telling you what they look like. I love that!
I love art! When traveling, I visit as many museums and galleries as I can. I have shown and sold art regionally in Texas. My favorite artists are Degas, Modigliani, and I've recently discovered Klimt.
I love memoirs, because real life is, at times, more interesting than fiction and people have amazing experiences. I love quirky characters. I can relate to most of them. I love literary books, travel books, architecture books, garden books, and books about the brain and how it works (I want to be a neuroscientist when I grow up).
I have a degree in Psychology and a degree in Advertising from the University of Texas.
When I'm not writing or painting, I love to travel, and love to hike in the mountains, especially in England and Scotland. I practice yoga and I love to garden, though I'm not that good at it...yet.
I've published my first short story called "Ferry to Dublin" in the January 2018 issue of the The Ocotilla Review. It's a non-fiction story about my daughter who was lost on the ferry. I still cry when I read it.
I am a member of the Writers' League of Texas and several critique writing groups in Austin.
Thank you for visiting my website.
